This section provides an overview of the key results and specific materials produced during the implementation of the project.
[Digital Stories for Sustainable Development Our school in Latvia participated in an Erasmus+ project focused on raising awareness of the European Union Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encouraging pupils to explore global challenges through creative and digital learning activities. As part of the project, our school focused on SDG 2 – Zero Hunger, SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals. To explore these topics in an engaging and age-appropriate way, pupils from Grades 4, 5 and 6 created their own Digital Stories / Digital Fairy Tales. Working individually or collaboratively, the pupils developed stories connected to the selected Sustainable Development Goals. Through storytelling, they explored issues such as responsible use of resources, sustainable communities, innovation, fair work, cooperation and the importance of partnerships in achieving common goals. The activity combined language learning, creativity, digital competence, collaboration and global citizenship education. Pupils were encouraged not only to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals but also to express their own ideas and perspectives through digital storytelling. The completed Digital Stories were presented to the participants and visiting guests of the Erasmus+ project and were posted on the project website This provided pupils with an authentic opportunity to share their creative work with an international audience, communicate their understanding of sustainability issues and learn from the perspectives of participants from other countries. The activity demonstrated how digital storytelling can be used as an effective educational tool to make the Sustainable Development Goals more accessible to young learners while developing their creativity, communication skills, digital literacy and sense of responsibility towards their local and global communities. ]
Greek team focused on promoting the social dimensions of the European Union’s Sustainable Development Goals through creativity, digital storytelling and international collaboration. With our students, we explored themes such as equality, inclusion, social justice, diversity, solidarity and respect for human rights. Through the creation of digital stories and fairy tales, students expressed social values and raised awareness of contemporary challenges, highlighting the importance of building a more inclusive, fair and sustainable European society. During the project, students of our school created digital stories which were published on the school’s website, printed and distributed to parents, and presented to the wider school community at an event focusing on the ELYX character in connection with local history. This approach aimed to engage a wider audience within the local community. The digital dissemination of the students’ work was carried out through the eTwinning platform, contributing to the wider dissemination and impact of the project.
